Dataset Description
The Cabell Log House was 3D scanned using terrestrial LIDAR on 2024-03-21; equipment used to scan this historic site included FARO Focus 3D laser scanners, models X130, S70 and S150; data was processed with FARO Scene v.2023.0.1; data was optimized and edited with Autodesk ReCap Pro v.2024;

Notes This structure was first constructed in 1869 by Edmund Cabell, a "freeman of colour" immediately after the end of the American Civil War (reference, historic signage found on site); it is located in the current Gospel Hill historic district of Staunton, Va; it came into the possession of the Historic Staunton Foundation in early 2024; it is a traditional log constructed house with a 20th c. kitchen annex built onto the south face of the original house;
