| This structure was first constructed in 1869 by Edmund Cabell, a "freeman of colour" immediately after the end of the American Civil War (reference, historic signage found on site); it is located in the current Gospel Hill historic district of Staunton, Va; it came into the possession of the Historic Staunton Foundation in early 2024; it is a traditional log constructed house with a 20th c. kitchen annex built onto the south face of the original house; |
